Queen Seondeok of Silla

Queen Seondeok ruled Silla from 632 to 647 as its first reigning queen. Her reign included major Buddhist building projects and the construction of Cheomseongdae, an astronomical observatory.

Cheomseongdae: An ancient stone astronomical observatory in Gyeongju, traditionally dated to the seventh century. Its construction is associated with Seondeok’s reign and royal support for astronomy.
