Quiz bowl

Quiz bowl is a team-based academic competition in which players use handheld buzzers to answer toss-up questions and earn points for their teams.

Toss-up question: A quiz bowl question read to all players, which they may interrupt with a buzzer to answer. Correct early answers earn points; incorrect interruptions can penalize a team.
College Bowl: An American college quiz competition created by Don Reid and aired on radio and television. Its broadcast format helped establish the modern team quiz competition.
