Radar chart

A chart that plots multiple variables on axes radiating from a common center, connecting values into a polygon for comparison.

Polar coordinate system: A coordinate system that locates points by distance and angle from a fixed origin. Radar charts place each variable on a radial direction around one shared center.
Multivariate data: Data in which each observation has values for multiple variables. Radar charts are designed to show several variables for each observation at once.
Bar chart: A chart that represents values with rectangular bars whose lengths are proportional to those values. Bars make individual values easier to compare precisely than radial distances.
Data visualization: The graphical representation of information to support exploration, analysis, or communication. Radar charts are one way to encode multivariate data visually.

Polygon: A closed plane figure made of straight line segments. Connecting successive plotted values creates the chart’s characteristic polygon.
Requirements engineering: The practice of identifying, specifying, and managing the needs a system must satisfy. Radar charts can summarize trade-offs among qualities such as cost, safety, and usability.
