Radical Civic Union

The Radical Civic Union is an Argentine political party founded in 1891 that challenged conservative rule and demanded electoral reform.

Revolution of the Park: An 1890 Argentine uprising against President Miguel Juárez Celman that helped precipitate the founding of the Radical Civic Union. The revolt brought together opponents whose movement became the party.
Hipólito Yrigoyen: An Argentine politician who led the Radical Civic Union and served as president from 1916 to 1922 and 1928 to 1930. His leadership carried the party into national government after electoral reform.
