Ragnar Frisch

Ragnar Frisch (1895–1973) was a Norwegian economist who helped establish econometrics as a discipline and shared the first Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1969.

Econometrics: The application of statistical and mathematical methods to economic data and theory. Frisch helped define its scope and establish it as a distinct field.
Simultaneous equations model: A system in which multiple variables are jointly determined by several equations. Frisch treated economic relations as an interdependent system rather than isolated regressions.
Jan Tinbergen: A Dutch economist who pioneered econometric modeling and shared the 1969 economics Nobel Prize. Tinbergen shared the first economics Nobel with Frisch for developing and applying econometric models.
