Rainbow trout

Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) are salmonid fish native to Pacific-draining waters of North America and northeast Asia. They are distinguished by a pinkish lateral stripe and include migratory steelhead forms.

Salmonidae: Salmonidae is the fish family containing salmon, trout, char, and whitefish. Rainbow trout belong to this family, whose shared traits include an adipose fin.
