Rashid al-Din Hamadani

Rashid al-Din Hamadani was a Persian physician, statesman, and historian who served the Ilkhanate and wrote the world history Jāmiʿ al-tawārīkh.

Ilkhanate: A Mongol khanate that ruled Iran and neighboring regions from the mid-thirteenth to the mid-fourteenth century. Its rulers employed Rashid al-Din and commissioned the historical project that defined his legacy.
Jāmiʿ al-tawārīkh: A multivolume world history compiled in Persian under Ilkhanid patronage in the early fourteenth century. It is Rashid al-Din's best-known work and the central achievement associated with his name.
Mongol history: The study of Mongol peoples, states, and societies across history. His account preserves a detailed narrative of Mongol origins, rulers, and imperial expansion.
Abu Sa'id Bahadur Khan: The last effective Ilkhan of the Mongol dynasty in Iran, who ruled from 1316 to 1335. His reign formed the political backdrop to Rashid al-Din's final years and fall from power.

Rab'-e Rashidi: A scholarly and charitable complex founded by Rashid al-Din near Tabriz. This institution joined his endowment, educational, and manuscript-production activities.
