Religious right

The religious right is a United States political movement that organizes around conservative religious values, especially in evangelical Protestant communities. It seeks to shape public policy and elections through political activism.

Moral Majority: A political organization founded by Jerry Falwell in 1979 to mobilize conservative Christians in U.S. politics. Its founding marked the movement’s emergence as a national electoral force.
Christian broadcasting: The production and distribution of media programming by Christian organizations and broadcasters. Radio and television helped activists communicate political messages across congregational boundaries.
Abortion politics: Political conflict over the legal status, regulation, and public funding of abortion. Opposition to abortion became a central organizing issue for many religious-right groups.

Focus on the Family: A U.S. evangelical organization founded by James Dobson that promotes conservative positions on family and social issues. Its advocacy connects religious teaching to campaigns over family policy.
