Rhynchosauria

Rhynchosauria is an extinct group of herbivorous archosauromorph reptiles from the Triassic Period, distinguished by beaked snouts and specialized tooth batteries.

Archosauromorpha: Archosauromorpha is the reptile lineage that includes archosaurs and several extinct groups of early reptiles. Rhynchosaurs belong to this broad lineage, outside the archosaur crown group.
Rhynchosaur dentition: Rhynchosaur dentition comprises specialized upper and lower tooth rows arranged for repeated plant processing. These tooth batteries are among the group's most distinctive feeding adaptations.
Hyperodapedon: Hyperodapedon is a genus of large, beaked rhynchosaur known from Late Triassic deposits on several continents. It is one of the best-known rhynchosaur genera and illustrates the group's widespread late diversity.
Middle Triassic: The Middle Triassic is the geological epoch spanning approximately 247 to 237 million years ago. The group's early record and initial diversification occur in this interval.
