Rhythm game

A video game genre in which players perform timed actions in sync with music or rhythmic cues. Games commonly judge accuracy by how closely each action matches a beat or cue.

Note chart: A visual sequence of timed inputs that tells a player what actions to perform during a song. Charts translate musical timing into a stream of playable cues.
Pulse (music): The regularly recurring beat that listeners can feel beneath a piece of music. Many game cues align with this underlying musical beat.
