Road junction

A place where two or more roads meet or connect, allowing traffic to move between them. Its layout determines which movements are possible and how traffic is controlled.

Intersection: A location where two or more paths or lines meet or cross. Road junctions are the road-traffic form of this broader kind of meeting point.
At-grade intersection: A road intersection where all roads meet at the same elevation. Its crossing movements share one level, creating direct points of conflict.

Conflict point: A location where vehicle paths can intersect, merge, or diverge. Junction layouts differ in how many conflict points they create and how they manage them.
