Robert Brout

Robert Brout (1928–2011) was a Belgian-American theoretical physicist who collaborated with François Englert on the 1964 mechanism explaining how gauge bosons can acquire mass.

François Englert: Belgian theoretical physicist who co-developed a 1964 mechanism for generating mass in gauge theories. Brout and Englert jointly published the symmetry-breaking paper that introduced their mechanism.
