Robert E. Howard

Robert E. Howard (1906–1936) was an American writer who created Conan the Barbarian and helped establish sword-and-sorcery fantasy through his stories of action, history, and the supernatural.

Conan the Barbarian: A fictional Cimmerian warrior created by Robert E. Howard, featured in stories set in the prehistoric Hyborian Age. Howard’s best-known creation became the defining figure of his fantasy writing.
Cross Plains, Texas: A small Texas town where Robert E. Howard lived for much of his life and wrote many of his stories. Howard’s life and working environment were closely tied to this town.
