Robert H. Goddard

Robert H. Goddard was an American physicist and engineer who launched the first liquid-fueled rocket in 1926 and developed foundational rocket technologies.

Liquid-propellant rocket: A rocket engine that burns fuel and oxidizer stored as liquids. Goddard’s 1926 launch demonstrated that a rocket could fly on liquid oxygen and gasoline.
