Robert Moog

Robert Moog (1934–2005) was an American engineer and inventor who developed the Moog synthesizer and helped establish electronic music synthesis.

Voltage-controlled oscillator: An electronic oscillator whose output frequency changes in response to an input voltage. Moog synthesizers used voltage-controlled oscillators as their primary sources of pitched sound.
Herbert Deutsch: An American composer and educator who collaborated with Robert Moog on early synthesizer development. Deutsch’s requests for a portable electronic instrument helped guide Moog’s first synthesizer prototypes.
