Robert R. Livingston

Robert R. Livingston was an American lawyer, diplomat, and Founding Father who served as New York’s first chancellor and helped negotiate the Louisiana Purchase.

Thomas Jefferson: Thomas Jefferson was an American statesman who wrote the Declaration of Independence and served as the third U.S. president. As president, Jefferson appointed Livingston minister to France, where they pursued the Louisiana Purchase.
