Robert S. Mulliken

Robert S. Mulliken was an American physicist and chemist who developed molecular orbital theory and received the 1966 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Molecular orbital theory: A quantum theory that describes electrons as occupying orbitals extending across a molecule. Mulliken developed this framework to explain molecular structure and bonding.
