Rocket artillery

Rocket artillery uses ground-based launchers to fire rockets at distant targets, often in rapid salvos. Its rockets may be unguided or guided, and its launchers are commonly mobile.

Multiple rocket launcher: A launcher that fires several rockets in quick succession, often from a vehicle. This is the characteristic platform for delivering rocket-artillery salvos.
Artillery: Weapons that launch projectiles against targets beyond direct visual range. Rocket artillery is one branch of this broader weapons category.
Area bombardment: An attack that distributes fire across a broad target area rather than a single point. Unguided salvos can saturate dispersed positions or large target zones.
