Rojava Revolution

A political and social transformation that began in 2012 in Kurdish-majority northern Syria, establishing autonomous self-government and promoting democratic confederalism, gender equality, and local councils.

Democratic confederalism: A political model centered on local self-government, grassroots democracy, and cooperation among autonomous communities. It supplies the movement’s framework for organizing authority beyond the centralized nation-state.
