Rosa Bonheur

Rosa Bonheur (1822–1899) was a French painter and sculptor known for realist depictions of animals, especially horses and cattle. Her monumental painting The Horse Fair brought her international fame.

The Horse Fair: An 1852–1855 painting by Rosa Bonheur depicting horses being traded at a Paris market. This vast horse-market scene became her most famous painting.
