Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is an independent Swedish learned society founded in 1739 to promote science and communicate research.

Nobel Prize in Physics: An international award established by Alfred Nobel for outstanding contributions to physics. The Academy selects the laureates and presents the prize each year.
Carl Linnaeus: A Swedish naturalist who developed a widely used system for naming and classifying organisms. He was a founding member and the Academy’s first president.
