Russia’s national library in Moscow, the country’s principal repository of published works and one of the world’s largest libraries by collection size.

Lenin Library: The former name of the Russian State Library, used from 1925 until 1992. The library’s Soviet-era name remains familiar in accounts of its history and collections.
Nikolay Rumyantsev: A Russian statesman and collector whose library and collections formed the basis of the Rumyantsev Museum. His collection was the institution’s foundation.
