Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup is a biennial team golf competition between Europe and the United States, played in match-play format. Its alternating host venues and national-team rivalry distinguish it from professional golf’s individual tournaments.

Match play: A golf format in which each hole is won, lost, or tied, and the match goes to the player or side winning more holes. Every Ryder Cup match is decided hole by hole rather than by total strokes.
