Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas

Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas was an early companion of Muhammad and Arab commander who led Muslim forces at the Battle of al-Qadisiyyah and helped establish Kufa.

Battle of al-Qadisiyyah: A seventh-century battle in which Arab Muslim forces defeated the Sasanian Empire’s army in Iraq. Sa'd commanded the Muslim army in this decisive confrontation with Sasanian forces.
Muhammad: The religious and political leader of seventh-century Arabia whose preaching founded Islam. Sa'd was among Muhammad’s companions and accepted Islam early.
