Salvador Allende

Salvador Allende was a Chilean physician and socialist politician who served as president from 1970 until his death during the 1973 military coup.

Popular Front (Chile): A Chilean coalition of left-wing parties that governed from 1938 to 1941. Allende entered national politics within the coalition’s socialist movement.
