Sancho VII of Navarre

Sancho VII, called the Strong, was king of Navarre from 1194 to 1234. He joined the Christian coalition at Las Navas de Tolosa and strengthened Navarre’s independence through diplomacy.

Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa: A 1212 battle in which a coalition of Christian kingdoms defeated the Almohad caliphate in Iberia. Sancho VII fought in the Christian coalition, earning renown for his role in the victory.
