Sarcopterygii

Sarcopterygii is a clade of bony vertebrates with paired fins supported by fleshy, muscular lobes. It includes coelacanths, lungfish, and tetrapods.

Lobe-finned fish: A common name for sarcopterygians other than tetrapods, whose paired fins contain fleshy internal lobes. This familiar name describes the fin-bearing members of Sarcopterygii while excluding their tetrapod descendants.
Fin-to-limb transition: The evolutionary transformation of fish fins into weight-bearing limbs with digits in early tetrapods. It traces how structures within sarcopterygian fins were reorganized during terrestrial vertebrate evolution.
