Saunders Mac Lane

Saunders Mac Lane (1909–2005) was an American mathematician who helped found category theory and coauthored the influential textbook Categories for the Working Mathematician.

Samuel Eilenberg: A Polish-American mathematician who co-founded category theory with Saunders Mac Lane. Their collaboration produced the 1945 paper that introduced categories, functors, and natural transformations.
