Secondary education

Secondary education is the stage of formal schooling after primary education and before tertiary education, commonly organized into lower and upper levels.

Primary education: The first stage of formal schooling, focused on foundational knowledge and skills. It immediately precedes secondary education in the usual sequence of schooling.
General education: Education that develops broad knowledge and transferable intellectual skills rather than training for one occupation. Many secondary programs balance broad academic learning with specialization.
