Seleucus I Nicator

Seleucus I Nicator was a Macedonian general under Alexander the Great who founded the Seleucid Empire and ruled it from 305 to 281 BCE.

Alexander the Great: King of Macedon who conquered the Achaemenid Persian Empire and established a vast empire across western Asia. Seleucus served in Alexander’s campaigns and built his power from the empire Alexander left behind.
Seleucid Empire: A Hellenistic kingdom founded by Seleucus I that ruled much of western Asia from the late fourth to the first century BCE. It was the territorial state Seleucus assembled and established as a dynasty.
