Seti I

Seti I was a pharaoh of Egypt’s 19th Dynasty who ruled in the 13th century BCE. He restored Egyptian power in the Levant and built monuments including the Temple of Seti I at Abydos.

Tomb of Seti I: A richly decorated royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings, designated KV17. Its paintings and reliefs are among the finest surviving records of New Kingdom royal funerary art.
New Kingdom of Egypt: The period of Egyptian history from about 1550 to 1070 BCE, marked by imperial expansion and royal monument building. Seti’s reign belongs to this era of renewed power after Egypt’s earlier political fragmentation.

Battle of Megiddo (Seti I): A campaign engagement in which Seti I’s forces defeated opponents near Megiddo in Canaan. The victory helped reassert Egyptian influence in the southern Levant.
