Seve Ballesteros

Seve Ballesteros (1957–2011) was a Spanish professional golfer known for imaginative shot-making and a deft short game. He won five major championships and helped transform Europe’s Ryder Cup fortunes.

1979 Open Championship: The 108th Open Championship, won by Seve Ballesteros at Royal Lytham & St Annes. His first major victory, secured at age 22 after a memorable recovery from a bunker.
