Sexual double standard

The sexual double standard is a norm that judges similar sexual behavior differently depending on a person's gender, often rewarding male sexual activity while stigmatizing female sexual activity.

Sexual scripts: Culturally shared expectations that guide how people interpret and enact sexual situations. Gendered scripts supply expectations that make the same behavior appear acceptable for one gender and improper for another.
Victorian morality: A set of nineteenth-century British moral ideals emphasizing sexual restraint, propriety, and domestic virtue. Its gendered ideals of purity and restraint helped shape later norms about respectable sexuality.
