Shabaka

Shabaka was a Kushite king of Egypt’s Twenty-fifth Dynasty who succeeded Piye and ruled Egypt and Kush. He consolidated Kushite control and sponsored major religious and building projects.

Piye: Piye was a Kushite king who conquered much of Egypt and founded the Twenty-fifth Dynasty. Shabaka succeeded Piye and inherited his expanding Egyptian kingdom.
Memphis: Memphis was an ancient Egyptian city near the apex of the Nile Delta and a major center of royal administration. Shabaka made this traditional Egyptian capital a focus of his rule.

Amun: Amun was a major ancient Egyptian god who became closely associated with kingship and the city of Thebes. Shabaka’s royal authority relied on the prestigious cult of Amun.
Shebitku: Shebitku was a king of the Twenty-fifth Dynasty who ruled Egypt and Kush after Shabaka. He followed Shabaka and faced the growing Assyrian challenge.
Tefnakht: Tefnakht was a ruler of Sais who organized resistance to Kushite expansion in Egypt. His opposition represented the Egyptian coalition Shabaka’s predecessor defeated.
Twenty-fifth Dynasty of Egypt: The Twenty-fifth Dynasty was a line of Kushite rulers who governed Egypt during the eighth and seventh centuries BCE. Shabaka was one of its central kings.
God's Wife of Amun: The God's Wife of Amun was a high-ranking priestly office held by a royal woman at Thebes. Kushite rulers used this office to strengthen dynastic influence over Thebes.
