Shaka

Shaka was a Zulu king who expanded and centralized the Zulu kingdom in southern Africa in the early nineteenth century.

Zulu Kingdom: A southern African kingdom established under Shaka and expanded by his successors. Shaka transformed this kingdom from a small polity into a regional power.
Impi: A Zulu term for a body of warriors assembled for war or military service. Shaka’s campaigns relied on organized forces deployed as impis.
