Sheep

Sheep are ruminant mammals in the genus Ovis, including wild species and the domesticated form raised for wool, meat, milk, and hides.

Domestic sheep: The domesticated form of Ovis aries, raised worldwide for fiber, food, and other products. This is the familiar managed form of the broader sheep group.
Sheep domestication: The process by which humans brought wild sheep under management and bred them as livestock. It established the domestic relationship that shaped sheep husbandry.
Wool: A natural animal fiber, especially the fleece of sheep, used to make textiles. Sheep fleece is the source of the best-known animal textile fiber.
