Shiitake

Shiitake is an edible mushroom produced by the wood-decaying fungus Lentinula edodes, native to East Asia and cultivated worldwide.

Lentinula edodes: Lentinula edodes is a wood-decaying basidiomycete fungus that produces shiitake mushrooms. This is the species that forms the edible mushroom.
