Shirō Ishii

Shirō Ishii was a Japanese army physician and microbiologist who led Unit 731, a wartime organization that conducted biological warfare research and human experimentation.

Unit 731: A covert Imperial Japanese Army program that conducted biological warfare research and lethal human experiments in occupied Manchuria. Ishii commanded this program and shaped its research agenda.
