Shivanasamudra Falls is a waterfall on the Kaveri River in Karnataka, India, formed by the Gaganachukki and Bharachukki cascades.

Gaganachukki Falls: Gaganachukki is the western cascade of Shivanasamudra Falls, where the Kaveri drops through a deep rocky gorge. It forms one of the two major cascades that make up Shivanasamudra Falls.
Kaveri River: A major river of southern India that flows through Karnataka and Tamil Nadu before reaching the Bay of Bengal. Its waters form the cascades at Shivanasamudra.
Chamaraja Wodeyar X: The Maharaja of Mysore from 1868 to 1894, who supported modernization in the princely state. His reign preceded Mysore’s early hydroelectric development at Shivanasamudra.
Hydropower: Electricity generated from the energy of flowing or falling water. Shivanasamudra’s elevation drop makes the river suitable for power generation.
Bharachukki Falls: Bharachukki is the eastern cascade of Shivanasamudra Falls, where the Kaveri divides into multiple streams. It forms the other major cascade, distinct in shape from Gaganachukki.
