Shwedagon Pagoda

A gilded Buddhist stupa in Yangon, Myanmar, traditionally believed to enshrine relics of four Buddhas, including strands of Gautama Buddha’s hair. It is a major center of Burmese Buddhist devotion and pilgrimage.

Stupa: A Buddhist monument, often dome-shaped, built to enshrine relics or commemorate sacred events. The Shwedagon’s architectural type connects it to a wider Buddhist tradition.
