Siberian tiger

The Siberian tiger, also called the Amur tiger, is a tiger population native mainly to the Russian Far East and northeastern China. It is the largest living tiger population.

Tiger: A large Asian cat species, Panthera tigris, recognized by its striped coat. The Siberian tiger is a regional population of this species.
Tiger conservation: The protection and recovery of wild tiger populations and their habitats. The Siberian tiger is a central focus of conservation in Northeast Asia.

Taiga: A northern biome dominated by coniferous forests, with long, cold winters. Taiga forests form much of the tiger’s habitat in the Russian Far East.
Anti-poaching: Measures intended to prevent the illegal killing or capture of wildlife. Poaching control is necessary to reduce direct mortality of tigers and their prey.
