Simpson Desert

The Simpson Desert is an arid region of central Australia spanning parts of the Northern Territory, South Australia, and Queensland. It is known for long, parallel red sand dunes.

Linear dune: A long, narrow sand ridge aligned roughly parallel to the prevailing winds. Parallel linear dunes dominate the Simpson Desert’s distinctive landscape.
