Swazi language

Swazi, also called siSwati or Swati, is a Southern Bantu language spoken chiefly in Eswatini and South Africa. It is one of Eswatini’s official languages.

Nguni languages: A branch of Southern Bantu languages that includes Zulu, Xhosa, and siSwati. SiSwati belongs to this closely related group of southern African languages.
Zulu language: A Nguni language spoken chiefly in South Africa. Zulu and siSwati share Nguni features but remain distinct languages.
Nguni migration: The historical movement of Nguni-speaking communities through southeastern Africa. Nguni population movements provide context for siSwati’s regional history.
Official language: A language given formal status for use by a government or public institutions. SiSwati has official status in both Eswatini and South Africa.
