Sivapithecus

Sivapithecus is an extinct genus of Miocene apes known from South Asian fossils. Its distinctive facial anatomy links it closely to the orangutan lineage.

Miocene: The geological epoch lasting from about 23 million to 5.3 million years ago. Sivapithecus lived during this epoch, when apes diversified across Eurasia and Africa.
