Sloan Digital Sky Survey

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey is a long-running astronomical project that images the sky and measures celestial objects’ positions, brightnesses, and spectra.

Photometric system: A standardized set of filters and calibration rules for measuring astronomical brightnesses and colors. SDSS imaging uses its own five-band system to classify objects and select spectroscopic targets.
