Slobodan Milošević

Slobodan Milošević was a Serbian and Yugoslav politician who led Serbia from 1989 to 1997 and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1997 to 2000.

Franjo Tuđman: Croatian politician who led Croatia during its independence and the wars of the 1990s. His nationalist project became a central rival to Milošević’s during Yugoslavia’s dissolution.
Serbian Communist Party: The ruling communist organization in the Socialist Republic of Serbia before the introduction of multiparty politics. Milošević rose through its leadership and used it to consolidate political control.
