Sophia Alekseyevna of Russia

Sophia Alekseyevna was a daughter of Tsar Alexis I who governed Russia as regent from 1682 to 1689 during the minority of her brothers Ivan V and Peter I.

Streltsy: Russian infantrymen who served as a standing military corps and often intervened in political conflicts. Their 1682 revolt helped secure Sophia’s family’s joint claim to the throne.
