Knowra Soumitra Chatterjee Soumitra Chatterjee Soumitra Chatterjee (1935–2020) was an Indian Bengali actor whose film, theatre, and television career became closely associated with director Satyajit Ray.
Apur Sansar : A 1959 Bengali film by Satyajit Ray, concluding the Apu Trilogy with Apu’s marriage and fatherhood. Chatterjee made his screen debut as Apu, now an adult confronting loss and responsibility.
Satyajit Ray : An Indian filmmaker, writer, and composer known for Bengali films including the Apu Trilogy. Ray selected Chatterjee for Apur Sansar and directed him in fourteen films.
