South Sinai Governorate

An administrative governorate in southeastern Egypt covering the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula. Its territory includes Sharm el-Sheikh and Mount Sinai.

Red Sea: A seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean between northeastern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Its Gulf of Aqaba and Gulf of Suez bound much of the governorate.

Gulf of Suez: A northwestern arm of the Red Sea separating the Sinai Peninsula from mainland Egypt. Its coast helps distinguish South Sinai’s western boundary from its Gulf of Aqaba coast.
