Southern celestial hemisphere

The half of the celestial sphere south of the celestial equator, containing the south celestial pole and constellations visible from southern latitudes.

Celestial sphere: An imaginary sphere centered on an observer, onto which celestial objects are projected for describing their positions. The southern hemisphere is one half of this sky-mapping sphere.
Southern Cross: A compact constellation in the southern sky, formally named Crux. Crux is a prominent southern constellation used to orient observers toward the south celestial pole.
